A truly exceptional Welsh "Dog Kennel" Dresser from the late 18th Century. . A very pretty old pine piece featuring a wonderfully scalloped shaped kennel pelmet and lower apron which is rarely seen. Three drawers adorned with brass handles above two cupboards each end and open kennel in the centre Whilst commonly referred to as "dog kennel" dressers the space or "Cwtch as it is known in Welsh was traditionally used to house the family sewing machine which often had a curved hooded case. Original throughout with stunning grain and patina, solid and sturdy.
